  • China Visitors Summit, China Visitors Summit 2018, China Visitors Summit Europe, CVS, Dusseldorf

Having started in Shanghai in 2009, the China Visitors Summit has been held in numerous leading cities worldwide, bringing together over 1000 Chinese travel agencies and tour operators, with face-to-face prescheduled meetings with over 1000 international travel suppliers.

Taking place between Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th May in Düsseldorf, Germany, the 2018 CVS summit marks the first time the event has taken place in Europe. Furthermore, participants enrolling via this link or the COTRI China Outbound Tourism website will receive a 10% discount following the processing of their registration.

The summit will be attended by numerous Chinese travel agencies and tour operators focusing on leisure and wholesale distribution in China, along with corporate travel planners and MICE managers. Additionally the summit attracts a contingent of media, bloggers and key opinion leaders from China. International travel suppliers include hotels, receptive tour operators, destinations, transportation companies, retail and luxury brands.

The core of the two day meeting is over 5000 face-to-face and prescheduled appointments between the Chinese buyers and international travel suppliers. In this case, the travel suppliers have the opportunity to pick and choose the Chinese buyers that they want to meet based on detailed descriptions. At the same time, the Chinese buyers also get to pick and choose the various suppliers based on their product interest and needs. Nearly 80% of the requested appointments are confirmed and detailed information is shared between the buyers and suppliers several weeks before the event so that contacts and relationships can begin before the event.

The first day of the summit, May 22nd, will additionally see the one-day ‘China Training Day @ CVS’ seminar. Led by industry experts with real market experience – including COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute’s Director Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt and Head of Research Dr. Minjuan Deng-Westphal among others – the seminar will fill focus on Chinese outbound tourism and understanding the related market conditions, selling, marketing, business and opportunities.

The China Visitors Summit is highly focused, efficient and productive. The Chinese buyers are selected based on their business development into Europe. Last year, these companies sent over 350,000 Chinese travelers to Europe and produced over €240 million in business. The individuals from each of the Chinese buyers is also selected based on their role and decision-making capacity for procuring and buying travel product.

This combination of prequalified Chinese buyers who are investing their money and time, along with the selection process and the intense face-to-face speed dating style of the summit make for a highly productive, valuable and unique business development environment.
