  • Bulgaria, Castle “In Love with the Wind”, CTW Chinese Tourist Welcome Award

COTRI Director Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt personally presented the CTW Chinese Tourist Welcome Award 2017 Gold Award in the category of Service Quality to George Tumpalov, owner of the prize-winning Castle “In Love with the Wind” at a special ceremony on Saturday June 3rd, 2017. Held at the castle in Ravadinovo, Bulgaria itself, the event featured a display of traditional Bulgarian folk dance and traditional music.

The castle, which has been built by Tumpalov over the past two decades, is considered a leading regional attraction among both domestic and international visitors and its earning of a Gold CTW Award in the Service Quality category is a reflection of the attraction’s commendable focus on hosting guests from China.

Commenting on the prize winner’s recent work in the field of Chinese outbound tourism, Prof. Arlt told attendees at the ceremony: “Here at the castle, a lot of things has been done already, but more is in the planning to provide special services for the special need and interest of the Chinese Outbound tourism”.

Emphasising their specific travel habits, Prof. Arlt also underlined the fact that Chinese outbound tourists will look to visit more than one country when in Europe and spoke warmly of the possibility of the development of regional themed routes for guests from China, which could see the castle be combined with similar attractions in the region.
