The Titanic Belfast visitor attraction, an interactive museum built upon the former Harland & Wolff shipyard where the RMS Titanic was built, has been named as “Europe’s Leading Travel Attraction” at the World Travel Awards in Sardinia, Italy on September 4th, 2016. At the ceremony, nicknamed the “Tourism Oscars”, Titanic Belfast beat a host of world-famous attractions to the title, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Colosseum in Rome.
Titanic Belfast notably became the first tourist attraction on the island of Ireland to acquire Chinese Tourist Welcome Quality Host certification, having completed COTRI’s China Tourist Welcome training earlier this year. The course was delivered to 25 members of Titanic Belfast’s Staff by Dr Tony Lenehan, Executive Director of Ireland’s Centre of Competitiveness business improvement organisation and puts the attraction in good stead to continue to offer premium services to the more than 25,000 Chinese tourists who have visited the attraction since its opening in 2012.
In order to accommodate its Chinese visitors, Titanic Belfast offers Chinese language visitor information and audio guides, as well as accepting UnionPay payment.
