Brand USA, which is responsible for the promotion of inbound tourism in the U.S., will host an event in Beijing next week focusing on promoting tourism between China and the U.S.
The 2016 U.S.-China Tourism Year will have its opening ceremony February 29th. The CEO of Brand USA as well as the U.S. Ambassador to China will participate in this event. Furthermore, President Obama also sent a video message to show the attention U.S. is paying to the development of bilateral tourism.
The U.S. has taken a series to measure to attract more Chinese tourists in the future. For example, the U.S. government has decided to extend the validity of the Chinese tourism visa to 10 years, which greatly motivated more Chinese tourists to travel to the U.S.
For now, Canada, Mexico, the U.K. and Japan have more tourists in the U.S. than China. With all these measures implemented, it can be foreseen that there will be more Chinese tourists visiting the U.S. in the future and playing a more important role in the U.S. tourism market.
