Thailand is the favorite destination for Chinese tourists in 2015

The economic slowdown of China has not influenced the passion of Chinese tourists to go abroad. In the year of 2015, Thailand has become of the favorite destination for Chinese tourists of the year and is expected to receive more than 8 million visits from China by the end of the year.

As a popular travel destination in Asia, the number of Chinese visitors to Thailand has been steadily increasing. From both the cultural and natural perspectives, Thailand provides a great variety of tourist attractions. Meanwhile, it is also famous for providing satisfying services with a relatively fair price.

The image of Thailand as an ideal destination of travelling was enhanced by a Chinese movie in 2012 which was called “Lost in Thailand”. This comic movie became the blockbuster of the year and successfully increased the popularity of the country among potential Chinese tourists. After that, the number of Chinese tourists in Thailand experienced a sudden grow. According to Santi Chudintra, the deputy governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chinese tourists paid 4.6 million visits to Thailand last year, and the number has increased to 8 million this year. Regions like Bangkok, Phuket Island and Chiang Mai are all attractive destinations for Chinese tourists.

The character that distinguishes Thailand from other tourist destinations is that unlike many other tourist destinations, Thailand regards the development of Tourism as a national strategy. Due to this reason, it pays much attention to improving the tourism infrastructure, which facilitates tourists who know little of the culture and language of Thailand.
