New magazine helps improve Britain’s profile among Chinese tourists

VisitBritain and the GREAT Britain campaign have recently introduced a new magazine which aims to reach more potential tourists and attract them to make a visit to Britain.
The magazine is called ‘Imagination – Make Britain Your Own’ and is going to be published once every year. This magazine seeks to appeal to potential foreign visitors by introducing Britain from different perspectives, for example business, study, shopping, food, etc. Furthermore, this 86-page magazine will also have a Chinese version, which serves as an ideal introduction to Britain for Chinese tourists.
According to Joss Croft, the marketing director of VisitBritain, VisitBritain is dedicated to promote the tourism industry in Britain, thus improving the economic development of different regions and making sure that the growth of tourism can benefit the entire country. This new magazine could be conducive to reaching this goal as it positions Britain as a diverse destination which offers opportunities for different activities.
It can be significant to notice the fact that this magazine is also available in Chinese language, which reflects that Chinese tourists are playing a more important part for the touristic development in the UK. VisitBritain tries to reach the Chinese customers directly by translating their annual magazine into Chinese, which could help Chinese tourists understand British culture better and gain a quick access to famous tourist destinations in Britain. In the past, Chinese tourists usually acquired travel information for a foreign destination from Internet websites on which people shared their own travel experiences.
