
COTRI’s director Professor Arlt at the International Asian Tourism Congress in Barcelona

COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute’s director, Professor Wolfgang Georg Arlt, will be representing COTRI as a panelists in a roundtable discussion at the 4th Asian Tourism International Congress held in Barcelona on the 23rd and 24th of November. The topic of this year’s congress is “Asian Tourism, Quality Tourism”, and Professor Arlt will join a panel discussion at 3pm on the 23rd of November.
The topic of the panel discussion is “A sectorial perspective of the potential of Asian Tourism”, and will discuss topics such as cultural tourism, shopping tourism, and health tourism. Joining Professor Arlt in the roundtable discussion are Luis José Llorca of Global Blue, Suresh Ponnudurai of Malaysia Healthcare, and Ángel Díaz of ALS Advanced Leisure Services.
As part of the panel discussion, Professor Arlt will give a statement on how Chinese outbound tourism will boost the global tourism industry and what countries can do to understand this trend and how to better attract Chinese visitors. Following the statements of all the participants, a debate session will follow, with a Q&A session with the audience concluding the discussion.
