The number of Chinese visitors to Zimbabwe, home to the Victoria Falls, saw a 62 % growth in the Q1 2014. It increased to 1,952, compared to 1,202 during the same period in 2014, says a report released by Zimbabwe’s government tourism agency. China is second top Asian source market already, only after Japan.

Authorities believe that the number is low and there is a huge potential. They expressed interest to relax visa rules to boost these numbers, according to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA). Other reasons that deter arrivals are poor travel connectivity, lack of proper marketing and degraded infrastructure.
