In the digital world, WeChat has now reached 938 million active users and is launching several new initiatives, such as; WeChat mini programmes, and improved search functionality. Also, new content distribution giants are now competing with Chinese search engines and there has been a shift from mainstream video platforms to short video and live streaming apps.
In the travel world, the overall number of tourist arrivals to popular destinations might be dropping due to a crackdown on low costs group tours, although FIT numbers are up.
